About the Author
My name is César Fernando P. Velasco. I am the author of The Last Star of Babylon, a historical fiction novel set in the Mesopotamian world. This site is its natural extension.
The work arose from years of reading 19th-century chronicles about archaeology in Iraq-Iran, apocryphal hadiths, and pre-Judaic liturgical poetry. My role has been that of a scribe: listening to the characters and giving them shape.

Is the story available to read?
Some fragments will be available here. There will also be narrated audio (thanks to my sister for her voice) and content on YouTube. The complete novel is expected by early 2027.
Why Babylon?
Because the dreams, ambitions, and miseries of human beings haven't changed that much in 2,500 years. Only the clothes and the gods change.
